Well, actually, the metal shielding is inside your Falcon to PREVENT external static electricity and magnetic fields to interfere and damage your Falcon - After all, the shielding is grounded so it cannot harm the Falcon's internals in any way.
But it is always advisable to pull the plug of the speaker. That will silence it once and for all and you can finally use some decent external speakers.
I doubt the screen corruption is due to MagiC and Jinnee. Have you tried booting the Falcon with the CTRL-key pressed to go around MagiC and Jinnee ?
