hey! right on... the 2600 is definitely a classic. donkey kong is fun...cant really go wrong there... although pac-man is a bad port... i like the 5200 and the intellivision ports better... venture is supposed to be really addicting (waiting on a copy to arrive in the mail). frogger, pitfall, dolphin, space invaders...those are all pretty fun, and relatively common ones. defender or stargate is neat (very similar format, and gameplay)... adventure was supposed to be really good from what i have read. there are a number of homebrewed and hacked games available as well... of ya want more information about systems software and all that stuff...check out atariage.com. thats an awesome site, and they even sell hmebrewed games there... ones that i find interesting are skeleton+ and dark mage. warlords, q-bert, demons to diamonds. any number of sears/telegames multi-game carts... sears had a game system that was atari made/compatible. so there is a really large game library out there. i am still building up the one we had when i was still a little kid... about 3/4 of the atari games i have right now are ones i've been playing since i was like 4 or 5. ha ha ha! it does bring back memoroies...which is why i dig retro-gaming. well, gaming in general i suppose. oh, atariage.com also has a pretty nice rarity list for atari carts for the 2600, 5200 and 7800. good luck, and feel free to e mail... i'll share what i can with ya.
