I had a little play around with idea yesturday.
I soldered in a 64Mhz crystal to the DSP, it booted but I am not sure what happened. I used the program that comes with CentTurbo, I forget its name.
It showed FPU at 50Mhz, DSP at 205Mhz and CPU at 25Mhz. I am not sure if this is because the program was not calculating right (i.e. software) or if it is something more fundimental. Not for a moment to I believe that it was runing that fast. Anyone else tried? Any other messuring programs around?
I slapped on my Peteli Cooler thing to it too, do not know if it helped.
I also tried to run the complete system at FPU and DSP @ 64Mhz and CPU @ 32Mhz but it did not work, I simply replaced my BUS Speeder 50Mhz crystal. What do people think failed? Chips are rated at FPU@50Mhz, DSP@33Mhz and CPU@16Mhz, I imagine one of these (or supporting chips) are failing, any ideas so I can try cooling things? Apparentely, cooling silicon to -50 should make them perform about twice as good.
