It is strange as spectrum 512 never worked on my real STE if I was using a 60Hz display on my colour monitor (I was using TOS 1.62, UK). I always had to run it in 50Hz (showing the borders) and I find the same is true when running Spectrum 512 using Steem with TOS 2.06 UK.
