I don't use MagiC myself, but fVDI/RageII is indeed supposed to work under that.
fVDI (currently) has no special support for MiNT (except for some code that should make it happier when memory protection is turned on).
Hardware accelerated graphics go a long way towards making a Falcon feel faster (I have never seen fVDI/RageII on a Falcon without an AB040, though).

Those old RageII cards can be found used for a couple of dollars/pounds on eBay etc.

I'll probably add support for some Voodoo cards sooner or later. Unlike most other graphics cards, there is full documentation available for those on the net.
IIRC, I have a Banshee and a 3/3000 myself, so those are where I'll start once I get around to it (actually, I did start this a couple of years ago, but I didn't get very far at the time). I seem to recall the rest newer ones being very similar too, as far as 2D is concerned.
