I have encountered similar problems with Gemulator2000 V8.03 running on a W2K platform (regret no longer have a W9x system). I can create and format usable virtual floppy drives, though am unable to read physical disks. Also, I have not been able to get the preformatted virtual hard drives supplied with the distribution to work. I have tried creating a VHD, but then have no means of formatting it (does anyone know where I can find a hard drive format utility, maybe HDX?). I also noticed that despite having created virtual floppies, if I set the ‘Windows files can be accessed’ option it disables both virtual floppies and tries to access the physical drive.
This otherwise appears to be an excellent tool (and free!!!) with a professional looking, well-designed UI. There must surely be some method of overcoming these problems. Anyone got any ideas?
