Ok I have had a few things going on from you lot here!
On thing that is immediately banging my head is the resolutions...
I have my STEs running on a Mono screen, and I also remember just how much faster the TT is under ST High too, and obviously how slow the TT is in 640x480x16 compared to 640x400x2!
Having the Falcon runnning in 640x480x256 would therefore be that much slower again wouldnt it?
That, I realise, is a little obvious now you have mentioned it.
I have not tried NVDI on any other screen mode than this on the Falcon, so I will try a fresh install on the same mode as I use one th STE / TT and then judge it.
Also, I used to have a Crazy dots on the TT and thats now gone, and I have just bought an Eclipse PCI adapter ( still cant get it working properly although I only tried it for about half an hour earlier on because of the kids getting on my tits ) and so this may or may not help the screen ( according to the docs it certainly does )
I suppose looking at it, I know that the Falcon has this and that which I also know more than make up for a lot of other downfalls, and the only other Falcon I have had before was a 1MB crappy thing that my father gave to me ( thanks for the 4MB card Chris... I still got that, but I ditched the Falcon before I got it - bugger ) and so I suppose I was hoping for so much more than what it is!
I am judging it for what the TT can do rather than what the Falcon does!
My mistake.
Still want input though, so if you fancy killing my htoughts stone dead, thats what this post is all for!
Give me reasons not to throw it in the bin and go back to the TT.
Alright then, I will do some more comparisons in the same screen modes rather than the slowest ones!
