Well, why start Aranym in the first place ? Everything an Atari clone or Aranym can do can be done on another platform as well, that's you to decide.
Here, it's a question of pushing the Atari platform further. Aranym is one way of keeping the Atari platform available and alive, building a clone the other.
If you have a PC that runs Aranym well and you don't want to spend the money on a clone, then don't. If you like to have hardware that runs Atari software and nothing besides that and are also willing to invest some money into it, buy the clone.
Absolutely no offense intended. You are the one who decides what to support.
