Author: Alex F. (B84a2.pppool.de) Date: 12-03-2002 16:04 Hi, what do you call "a lot" of new users? At the moment 100 new users would be the greatest advance since...errm...the Falcon?! It is important to get new people being interested in Ataris, whoever they are. And this must happen independently from any new hardware. What we would need to attract thousands of people is: -a solution of the drivers-problems (printers, gfx-cards, network, ...) -AND marketing -AND new hardware 1.can not be solved by private people because firms don't give out any documentation. More users would mean more programmers - which would be needed to program such drivers. 2.can be solved by private initiative. Or private funding. 3....which must be available for a longer period. There is no use in building xxx clones, when after they have selled the project is finished. This would make any marketing senseless. Alex
