:That's about the niveau of the CF4e - without DSP!

Note, however, that the 96x was the average of graphics and CPU speed (a completely meaningless number). The CPU speed was 200x according to GEMBench.
Of course, counting CPU speed by doing reads and writes from/to cache and dividing integers doesn't make any sense in the first place.

> Please clear out the following also: aranym claims to be 21x faster than a hades060 (Athlon XP 1700+ running ARAnyM in Linux/X11 see http://aranym.sourceforge.net/ ) Didn't the 060 score 87 mips (according to czuba-tech.com)?

That is indeed the Dhrystone MIPS number Mr Czuba mentions for the Hades060.

Anyway, while the Kronos CPU test is better than GEMBench's (it would be very hard not to be ;-), it still isn't anywhere near reality.

The OpenGL test in Kronos is much better, since it actually uses some real code to do real work. It's likely to use the FPU quite heavily, though, unlike most software.
As can be seen at the ARAnyM website, the same machine scored about 8x Hades060 at that test.

If someone can come up a 'better' test, I'd be happy to run it under ARAnyM on my 1.3 GHz (non-XP) Athlon (assuming I have or can get hold of the software in question).

> 21x87=1827mips for aranym with a 65,00 € processor...

Someone should just run Dhrystone and get the actual MIPS number (What? Who? Me? ;-).
Not that MIPS is any indicator of real speed either (it's not called Meaningless Indicator of Processor Speed for no reason)...
