Well, my solution is simply platform independent programming.

It's good for the users of Notwindows: you get up-to-date software, at the same date and with no extra charge.

And it's good for the programmers: you can write software for a lot of platforms at once and this means a maximum of customers.

Of course, there must be someone, who's implementing such a library for a platform, but not that much programmers, that are accquainted with this platform to write programs for.

A very important step was the porting of Sam Lantiga's SDL to TOS. I'm currently even discussing about integrating the SDL in TOS as a pendant to Microsoft's DirectX.

On the other hand, the SDL is like most platform independent libraries not going far enough, and I'm working on an own platform independent API, which does not only gives you the most needed functions for computer games, but for all kinds of applications.[1]

My UniverC shall once even replace the ANSI C libraries, making programming easier and more systematic.

And I'm hunting suggetions of developers from all platforms. Just writing down the draft is already damned tricky yet...

[1] An SDL based program must be adapted for different platforms because of the non-SDL-functions like for network communications. A UniverC program compiles with no changes on any platform.
