Does the desktop appear ?

If the desktop does not show icons, you simply must insert an empty DD formatted PC/DOS diskette for booting.

But the first Atari STs still booted from disk. That would be bad... It should ask you for a system disk then.

First there was the Atari 260 ST and the old 520 STs, booting from disk. Newer 520's booted from ROM like 1040s do.

One way or another, you need to get Atari ST disk images. A computer without programs is useless.
