hi laurent,
this hack you're talking of works by adding a 2nd shifter to your st and only extends the palette DAC from 9 to 15 bits meaning that the possible number of colors displayed at once won't actually change, at all.
it just becomes 4 or 16 out of 32768 instead of 4/16 out of 512 colors.
in my opinion this thing is quite useless and it hasn't been supported by any software since there isn't any driver that could be used in order to tell gem how the extended palette registers provided by the hw-extension have to be treated (there's just been some example program which fades through those new colors so that you can see that they are available) - however, it maintains to keep st/e compatibility, though.
concerning the pcb - i think there never was any....just use some piece of perfboard and follow the description from the txt-file (i think there's been a little ascii chart on the bottom to show you how to connect the components, if you really want to build that thing).
