No no, perhaps I didnt explain myself
With SD Driver, its possible to re-partition the Disk, and save some data, but its not all roses though!
For example
1 Drive, 3 Partitions
C: = 100MB
D: = 300MB
E: = 200MB
Now, lets say you wanted to make D: and E: as both 250MB Partitions, you can, but the data on D: and E: will be killed off, however, C: will be safe!
You could not keep E: and make D: into a 200 either, because ANY partition that you change, will be wiped, and every partition after that will also need to be wiped too!
Ok, so lets say that you are happy with both C: and D: and wanted to change E: into 2 smaller ones, then yes, you can do that and as long as you dont touch C: or D: you can simply make E: smaller, and add another one ( F: ) and then you will have 4 partitions!
Thats the plus-side!
However, you have a problem with SDDriver in that it is NOT AHDI Compatible
Its fast... Bloody hell its fast... Much faster than anything else I have seen, even HDDriver, but its not compatible!
I remember when I moved from SDDriver to HDDriver, the ST would crash violently when trying to read the disks using HDDriver!
What I had to do, was this:-
Drive 1 was partitioned with SDDRiver
Drive 2 was partitioned with HDDriver
I could NOT have both drives connected when using either SDDRV or HDDRV - however, I could have them both connected when using AHDI
Also, I had to make sure that they did NOT boot... I used AHDI from a floppy
I was then able to Move from the SDDRV disk to the HDDRV Disk.
Once I ahd done that, I had to repartition the SDDRV disk with AHDI before HDDRV could access it.
Awfull trying to find all that out knowing that one false move could wipe the lot!
Anyway, SDDRiver I had when I bought my first Gasteiner HD... I can send you a copy if you want, however, if you have been using HDDRiver till now, then I would NEVER suggest you bother with it unless you are
A> Willing to lose everythign you have
B> Stupid
C> See Answer B
LOL
Try it on a seperate HD though - Its great.
