Actually to be honest, I think thats just a myth!
Whether its true for the original ST I cannot remember as my first HD I got when I had an STE, and my first partition was 500MB and it booted and ran fine! - where the 32MB crap came from I dont know?
That was using SDDriver, so maybe its an AHDI issue rather than a TOS one???
As I said before though, SDDRIVER is NOT compatible with AHDI, so maybe its that?
I no longer have a SCSI Adapter for an ST so I cannot verify that on an ST
The Falcon's biggest partition size is 2GB
I have a 200MB IDE so I have not tried to only use a SCSI Drive, but I will see how big the biggest C: can be as soon as I can be bothered ( Which is any day cos I have a new 4.5GB SCSI to slap in, so I will give it a blast then : I will try both TOS 3.6 and 4.4 )
You must remember that when the sector sizes change, thats when it comes into play.
I mean, the 1GB limit is 1023MB rather than 1024 and 2GB is 2047 and not 2048...
Maybe thats why people seem to think its 1GB and not 2GB
