>Today I found that it boots from this one disk (it has an auto folder with ADHI on it, as well as a few other things) but I only have an icon for one partition.
Ok, so if you make up another Icon for D: can you access D:?
As far as I can remember, it does actually do this anyway? - Some Ataris let you then install icons for all Devices!
>Without the disk, it doesn't boot at all,
So, hopefully all it needs is for you to install the driver to the HD rather than boot off the floppy?
>where it used to just boot up as if there was no hard drive attached, and without loading the saved desktop settings.
It may be trying to switch from A: to C: and then it may save to C: when it loads the desktop from A:... Sort of bypassing themselves?
> I can access files on the partition I've labeled as C as long as I boot with my "magic disk." I still receive the message "NOT bootloaded" during start- up.
Magic as in MagicOS?
The not bootloaded error is because MagicOS is not bootloaded rather than it having anythign to do with the HD.
If there is a MAGXBOOT.PRG in the auto folder, rename it to .PRX
Running HINSTALL.PRG and selecting "install" as per the instructions, I get the two bombs on the screen, then get sent back to the desktop.
Does any of this make sense?
Yes, DONT USE HINSTALL.PRG - thats from AHDI
As you have HDDRIVER, use that, and that alone!
HDDRIVER is XHDI - which is very similar to AHDI, but has extra features, and so AHDI is bombing because its possibly getting confused because the HD is started up with the supra utils or HDDRIVER!
Try using HDDRIVER to boot the HD and then install the driver to it, and forget about using AHDI and SUPRA
The only files you should run are
HDDRIVER.PRG - the main driver
HDDRUTIL.APP - The utilities bit of HDDRIVER
Anything else is a no-no!
