The thing is, that if the bootsector is corrupt, how did it get that way?
What model HD is it mate?
It's a quantum 52mb extern (Megadrive). It's the very first HD I got for my 520 ST.
I'l try to explain what happend.
The problem come because I did a unforgively mistake. I was about to connect another IBM 1Gb. HD to the SCCI-line om my 1040 STE system. It was used om a PC before, so I just meant it neded to be reformatted and partitioned before using it on Atari's.
Unfortunatly it had the same ID as my Quantum-disk, and I wasn't aware that seens HDDRUTIL listed the IBM-drive correct in the unit-list, so I selected that drive and formatted it.
After that I could not boot from my Quantum.
I belive that some how those 2 drives was swapped during the formatting, with katastrofical resoult. They'r both ar corrupted, and probebly unrecoverable !?
I could try to do something if I could have a program that can make a true image-copy of the disk before I starting other experiments.
