Not. You need a NE2000 clone card. Fortunately they are about as common as flies in the desert. Walk three feet in any direction and you will bump into a box full of old ones.

The docs say that any ne1000 or ne2000 or faithul clones will work.

It is funny that you mention the 3c509 as I was curious enough to check just this afternoon. The 3c509 which is also super common is not an NE clone and so the drivers won't work.
