You dont format the drive. Formatting means a low level format, which you should definatley not do on IDE drives, even on SCSI drives unless really necessary. High level formatting IE, the way DOS/Windoze format a drive, is not needed.

You just load the HDdriver app and use it to create partitions on the IDE drive. The drive is now ready for use.

If you use a large drive, stick to multiple 1Gb partitions then you will have no trouble.
