OK, we´ve been working on this for quite some time now, and I guess it´s about time to leak some info.
The hardwareing site will be sort of "ST hardwareing tips & tricks center", where anyone can contribute with their designs, and discuss projects with others. I will also contact the Swedish "Allt om elektronik" (Elektor) magazine, and ask for their perrmission to publish all their ST-projects tru the years. They stopped supporting the ST some years ago, but from -85 to mid 90´s, there were alot of good ST stuff.(trackball, soundsampler, logic analyzer, eprom burner, switchboard for up to 8 cartridges aso)
We´re doing all the work on a 4mb Falcon, with a 16" multisync (800X600X256col using CENTSCREEN, recommended!) with proggies like APEX, Imgcopy, Contrast, and of course all HTML is written in EVEREST only. ;) There´s some things we´re missing, though. Scanning pictures works fine with the Falcon, but when we want to read in texts (OCR), we have to move the scanner cable to a MAC, since the only scan prog we have found for the Falcon, HPSCAN from Homa Systems House, don´t support OCR. So if someone would write a OCR prog for the FALC, or maybe a plugin for HPSCAN, we would gladly pay some for it.
Another problem: Non of the existing proggies to make background colour transparent in GIFs, seems to work at all on my Falcon. So we have to move all pics to the MAC, and photoshop, for that purpose. :( Can anyone tell us what´s wrong with f.ex. TransGIF?
We hope to have the site up in mid january, but no promise, anything can happen...
