One thing that has me bugged, is that on the TT, if I install MagicOS I get a massive speed increase in graphics, and if I also run NVDI, the jump is again massive.. i.e if I have both NVDI and Magic installed, the GFX are 10-20 Times faster, but on the Falcon, NVDI makes absolutely no difference at all! GEMBench shows a tiny bit, but I do mean tiny!
Why is this?
*you got me. NVDI on my falcon gives me ~200-500% increase in gfx.
It got me from the day I got the Falcon
With the Blitter test, it shows the block moving across and down the screen yes?
Well, on the TT, the test is done in a fraction of a second ( at a guess I would say it could do the that test 5 times a second ) , yet on the falcon its about 4 seconds long!!! WHY?
*It takes a few seconds on my falcon too. Never did investigate whether the blitter is on or off at the time of the bench.
The TT has a much faster (32bit wide) bus which the blitter relies upon to transfer the data.
I could go on with a whole list of things that are bugging me about the slow Falcon, but I wont!
*I would be depressed if this was me, cos I dont have a TT to fall back on. Have you got your name down for a CT60? I would be interested to know if it solves your problem or not.
