I don't believe that Atari is still that popular that this was a wise decision.

At least they were clever enough to put the label on a lot of titles before renaming their company...

But you should not forget, that the great days of Atari are lying over 10 years in the past. This generation isn't the main target group.

And the "impressive" Atari logo might be just an illusion bound to the experiences of this generation.

On the other hand, the label "Atari" have had an overall good "start" due to Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal II and Neverwinter Nights.

Perhaps the logo is also better, because it is much more plain and this way easier to recognize than the armadillo, but this is just theory and IMO much too overvalued.

For my part I will not buy a game because it came from this or that firm - but I'll avoid to support some particular firms >;->
