I don't know about current purchasing etc., but I do know that Atari did manage to get Falcons into embedded markets that most atari users were never aware of. I purchased a spares falcon (fried TOS chip) from a worker at Bell labs in Columbus Ohio in the mid 90's. It had been in operation as a network print spooler. The person who sold it to me had no idea of what equipment or software was used. It would have been interesting to know, but the hard drive was stripped from the machine. So beyond that sellers comments about it, I don't know if we will ever know what role it filled. It always sounded like there was some ethernet option floating around out there.
