The reason the people who sell it for less is because of the technology. It's outdated for the consumer compared to newer PC's. If the U.S. Postal servcis use the Falcon 030 608030 16MHZ Brain for sorting, don't you think they can easily have upgraded or even find a better inexpensive solution? What remaining Atari dealers? There are only 3 in CA. Best-Electronics, B&C and possibly ATY Computers. Also, Atari does not exist as a hardware company so the dealers would not be official anymore. They do not have contracts with Infogrames which is now back to being Atari only in the U.S. I do appreciate that they exist to assist in getting parts but I will check with them on your story. This would have made major press about Atari Falcons being used for sorting machines. You don't think the idiot Tramiels would have not allowed that kind of information that Atari Falcons are being used for Government business? It was in the press when they used Battlezone machines to train the Army in simulations, why not this? It was too expensive then when the PC's were going down in price and already had better graphic capabilities. The Falcon was already being oudated when it was released and the Tramiels as usual never made enough of them and used all their resources for the Jaguar. This is why the remaining dealer have a set price. Even 11 years later, they are at least a few hundred off the original price.
