What you do is buy a cable that has a male 13pin connector on one end and the female equivalent on the other. Now this is harder said than done, because you cannot buy these cables in the shops, and you'd be hard pressed to find the connectors so that you can make one up yourself.
I cant remember whether the SM124 has a detachable cable or whether it runs straight into the monitor. If its the former then you need a cable with these connectors on each end (9 pin 'D'?), if its the latter, it means getting someone to open up the monitor and making and fitting new cable, which means ŁOUCH...
