Dont know to be honest!
You could try GFA Basic perhaps?
Many would say its better than HBasic, and many would say its not!
One thing you cannot argue about is that its faster...my god its bloody fast, and will leave HiSoft Basic standing without a doubt at almost anything.
Personally, I hate it, but thats just me.
erm? STOS?
STOS has been extremely well supported, and there is documentation for it in tons of places, but I myself cannot tell you. I used to do a lot of STOS programming, but got bored very quickly.
The problem with many things like this, is that when it comes to docs, even with the best docs, all you get is the syntaxes for the commands/functions, the rest of it, is mostly fillers etc to tell you how to use the program itself, which I myself find utterly useless as they are all so simple to use!
What would be a great thing, is to have a list of each command/function and a simple example of how that could be used, and you only get an example with stupid commands such as PRINT, INPUT, or CLS - the obvious ones! - no example for anythign complex, so you have to work that one out yourself!
With the Atari, you quite likely got First Basic with it, so do you still have the First Basic Manual?
