The 4MB limit is due to the 68000 only having 24 adress BUS lines. There's no way to add extra adr lines to a 16/24 CPU, but if your STE has a harddrive you could try one of those "outside" apps, that makes a "virtual RAM swap partition" on the HD just like a wintel. Not recommended tho, makes the STE veeery slow.
Another possibility would be to find a 030 accelerator for the STE. The 030 has all the 32 adr bits, so it can access alot more RAM.
