Never seen those Falcon Original Schematics? If not, get them from Wezz. You'll see that there's nothing connected to pins 16-31 of the CPU's DATA BUS, and pins 24-31 of the ADR BUS are left unconnected as well. Sorry...
I checked this up when I replaced My older Falc's 16MHZ 030 with a 33MHZ one, and also took a couple of closeup photos. There are a bunch of empty solder pads for them mentioned pins, no tracks from them and no tru-holes...
Believe it. Atari Falcon is a 16/24.
I think it was built around a 68000, and the 030 was a last-minute change or something. If you made an adaptor and replaced your Falc's 030 with a 16MHZ 68HC000, it would perform just as good (maybe even slightly better).
