IIRC even Starglider I worked somehow under monochrome... perhaps the bitmap graphics where corrupt...
Well, remarkable is, that Starglider II worked in both, LOWRES and HIRES(monochrome)...
There is another game: Crystal Castle. More remarkable, because it uses pure bitmap graphics.
On the other hand, a lot of IBM PC games did the same to work with Hercules, CGA and EGA graphic, like Leisure Suit Larry - I believe that at least many of the Sierra adventures did it also on the Atari ST, at least Larry IV or III(?) as I know.
But nethertheless, if you get used to the coloured version, you won't longer play the monochrome, if you aren't forced to...

The -as I believe- pretty popular Megaroids runs for example in MIDRES and HIRES. Funny, but silly...
Other Public Domain games like "Go Up", "Ballerburg" and "Ölimperium"(Oil Empire) only worked in HIRES - at least the earlier versions for the Atari ST.
