Ultima 3 should be a bootable disk and on the XE you would probably have to hold down the (option key I think to knock out the basic cartridge) and if it still doesn't load then you may need to get the 800 to XL/XE loader program since that is an older game and I don't know for sure that it was designed to run on the XE so you may need to emulate the older 800 to play the game.

If it requires the basic cart then all you should ahve to do is to place the disk in the drive and boot from it unless again it is ment to run on the older basic then you will need to put in the Atari Basic cart and hold option to knock out the built in Basic in the computer, but I don't think Ultima needs basic.
