I wouldn't even think of trying that!!
Any low-level HD access routine may do to your harddisk a lot of harm.. for example you may trash ALL your partitions.
A low level Harddisk routine might work on some harddrives on other it could scratch it.
If you speek about emulators --> this is senseless since the ACSI protocol isn't emulated.
