"Unfortunately, your stuffed there mate.
The TT's STRAM is on-board like the old Pre-STEs and upgrading its RAM is a bit of a hefty bugger of a job without getting a real add-on Daughterboard, which in turn will kill your pocket stone dead."
LOL I love how you put that, but it is true, ram for the TT 030 is not cheap in any scale. You can get 256 simms for $32 US in some places, and 8 mg ST-Ram costs 8 times that much. Ouch!
"Another 2MB STRAM costs £200 the last time I knew, and 10MB was £230 "
You can get this at best for like $199. But then again in the ST world, programs are more compact. Since most programs don't exceed 4 mb most of the time anyway, it is really a luxury. And I believe the TT ram board is going for like $150-$175 depending on if it's populated or not.
"Either way, putting the words "ATARI", "MEMORY", and "CHEAP" into the same sentence is not happening without heavy use of the word "NOT" "
I think I remember you telling me that. BTW.. looks like I'll be getting a AlberTT video card soon. Yahhhh!
"Anyway, ask System Solutions for their prices - If they have anything left that is!"
Yeh, it it getting more and more challenging to be a TT 030 user. When I first had one in 1999 they were selling the Magnum 256 MB (TT-Ram) card. Man I wish I had got one of those then!
The fun thing I like about the TT030.. just like in those video games were you find powerups, it is much like that. You can keep adding and adding stuff to the computer. It starts weak (2 mb) and can zoom past all the other Atari's overal. At least for a Atari manufactured computer that is.
