How about not dragging, but opening the driver from inside the configuration program instead?
Also, there are versions of drivers and configuration programs that don't work together. At one time when I had some really strange problems with my AB040 setup, it turned out that the configuration program had not actually set the options it claimed to...
(That was probably not with Doug's original configuration program, though. But then again, I'm not sure if that even worked with the last few versions of the driver software.)
It's been several years since I last used any of the configuration programs, however, and I don't think any of them would work with the AB040 Toolkit driver I'm using now (a modified version with Eclipse support).
