The boot resolution should be not equal the desktop resolution. The AES should set the prefered resolution (may it be TOS, N.AES or MagiC) regardless of the res you booted in.

I recomend using ST-HIGH during boot for using less ram for screen memory and faster speed both for the actual text scrolling and less bus load.
