Right. I have the same problem. I'll never quite understand why they made the upgrade available for 6.1 users, but not 6.01. Most upgrades like this that I've seen are available for free or reduced price within the major version number (i.e. the number to the left of the decimal). That they chose to allow one kind of version 6 user to upgrade for free and not another is perplexing.
