Changing chips would be a bit more complicated than I thought (for a newbie like me). Also I've noticed in the eBay item that you'd need to cut a portion of the drive in order to make room for the rectangular eject button (remember the ST had a rhombus-shaped one) - not something I'm keen on doing.
The price is actually 15USD (which is roughly 21AUD in Australia) roughly the price of a brand new floppy drive.
