Well, there are 16mhz sources on all ST
motherboards, EXCEPT the STE´s tho! You´ll
have to get a cheap 16MHZ crystal oscillator
if you want to use a HDD drive in a STE.
There is also one more little issue:
Not all FDC´s can handle the 16MHZ signal.
Check on the floppy controller chip,
if it says "WD1772" only, it may not work.
If it says "WD1772 02-02", it works.
All STE´s has the 02-02 chip but some
older ST´s may have the slower FDC.
