Hi !
Glue is a well named ATARI custom chip. It act as a glue with the others custom chips. It hold part of RAM coherence adressage, part of DMA processes, part of interuptions generation, etc...
I've no idea how to test it. I remember that the STFM glue of my brother was out of order because of a one summer day long playing game heat. But warranty was still active at those years...
There use to be some test cartridges you insert into the cartridge port of the ST before running it. "Patented ATARI repair-men" had them to clue hardware failure. I don't know if there is some left in the world or if we could find the source code of one of them on the net to build a new one. If you could find such a cartridge, I have a document that explain how to use it.
But I think if you find that product on the net you will find this document as well. My copy is a paper copy one. I could make it a PDF and send it to you, but it won't serve without the test cartridge.
sheers.
