Could it be a loose connection between the video port and the motherboard? When I wiggle it it goes on and off. And I can never seem to get it to stay still...
The monitor (SC1224) works on my 520ST.

As your problem description is few detailed I would suggest you to have a look to the vertical blank signal side of your STE (composite sync or vertical sync). If you use a 13 pins DIN cable to plug your monitor (or TV set) try to gently move the plug while in the STE until the screen stop scrolling. It seems to me that your plug is not plugged correctly. Otherwise I don't know.
