I can't answear you for the SCSI drive because I was asking myself the same kind of question. I found BigDos somewhere and downloaded it yesterday. I still didn't test it but it seems to be able to lead big brand new SCSI drive in DOS compatible format on any ST. So I will try it one day. I have a big lack of time for those tests because I only have one SCSI original Seagate 48Mo and I have to backup all my files on my PC first. A boring and long task to do as I only could use 720Ko floppies to copy files...
Mega STe is like others ST(e) for screen display. I meen that you won't be able to plug it on a VGA monitor unless you find a device to convert PAL (or NTSC) TV signal to VGA or SVGA. The problem is the rate of the two synchronisation signals (vertical and horizontal). The minimum rate of those sync on a PC monitor is at least twice the value of the low/medium ST resolution (TV rates). So only monochrome hight resolution could fit a PC monitor unless you use a kind of EGA compatible PC monitor. But they are not many sold nowadays.
Keep you original ATARI color monitor if you have any or use a TV for Low/medium resolution and keep monochrome monitor as well if you have any !
PAL (or NTSC) to VGA conversion could be done with external box for 80 Euros at least. I found one model in France in supermarket but those boxes are few and expensive. In addition the model I found doesn't solve the ST problem as PAL input signal is suppose to be a composit or S-video signal. The ST only provide RVB or RF signal. That meens you need an other device to convert RVB to PAL...
Sorry but if someone have a better clue to solve those kind of problem, I am interested as well.
