As Jens said, your hard disk has to be formated the same as a DOS partition for the PC to read or write it. I do not know if there is a PC software that include a GEMDOS partition driver. In addition you will need an SCSI daughter card for your PC if you haven't got any SCSI plug as far as your hard drive is SCSI. (IDE on Falcon). So you need a free PCI plug in your PC.
You could as well use a serial cross cable between your PC an your ATARI. You will need softwares to initiate communication between the two machines such as Windows HyperTerminal on PC. Problem is that ATARI serial port is up to 19200bps on STE and I think 9600bps no more on STF. So I did it faster using severals 720Ko floppies in DOS format rather than using my serial cross cable while I backup my Mega STE 48Mo hard drive on my PC !!!
But I presume GoshtLink to be faster than a serial cross cable.
It would be a good idea to include a GEMDOS partition driver in an emulator.
