Thanks for the advice. I did clean the mylar but it didn't make a difference. But I'll keep that in mind if I ever have keyboard problems in the future.
Rather than pressing on keys, I separated the keyboard from the mylar then used a piece of wire to complete the circuit on certain keys. It caused letters to appear when I touched some strips but still no luck with the "dead" keys.
I also wired some AWM-style cable into the keyboard jack to test whether there was a break in the cable but there was no change in performance.
I fear there is a break in the mylar or some other circuit. I'm ordering a Mega ST keyboard as a replacement but if anyone has an actual TT or Mega STE keyboard then please let me know.
