Hmmm. You know, I'm not convinced.
I think they're read the newsgroups, and are worried that you are going to get your money back - that you are no longer thousands of miles away from them.
Perhaps they can send you some receipt from posting? Who on earth would send nearly $2,000 of stock without some form of receipt.
If you really are having trouble still, and do not wish to take the course of action suggested, may I recommend drawing the company to the attention of the IRS? If they take $2,000 from you and /don't/ send stock, that $2,000 is going somewhere, and it's probably not appearing on any accounts.
Another point - you should always pay by credit card, if you can! Fraud protection is a feature of many cards, and if you pay for an item and don't get it you can usually be refunded.
