Well, it does go a wee bit beyond my thoughts of this board, which basically is to incorporate many small, and not very complicated, mods into one board. Also, I want a board that still keeps the atari 100% compatible with existing software.
However, you are not the only one thinking about the dragonball in an ST. I've considered it aswell, although I've never looked into the details for such a project.
Putting in a DSP instead of FPU is actually not a bad idea. As you say, the FPU is not widely used, and a really fast DSP is probably of a lot more use. If it can be mapped in the same way you map the FPU, it isn't a very complicated mod, and would fit the design goals of the board very nicely, and actually also bring some new stuff, and not just incorporate old mods into one.
