I assume it is easymint/sparemint you have installed? Then you shouldn't make your own direct commands in the rc.net file. The OS has an automatic network setup with the values it finds in /etc/sysconfig/*

Anyway if it works and you're happy, no need to change, just wanted to point this out anyways :)
