Hey Mike
Well, I hope you're right. Although I still doubt it a lot, but anything else than M$ is good for this market.
You know, the thing is that I saw the same thing happening with the Falcon. It was announced as the greatest machine ever (and in many respects, it was the greatest when it was released). Falcon would be the saviour of Atari Inc, they were planning to make so much stuff for it, and there would be so many versions of the machine etc etc etc. A few months later, the "real" Atari Inc died and none of these plans became reality. If I look back at it, all those promises about new stuff sounds very much like what you're telling us about the new Amiga.
Who can assure us that all this is more than just a wild plan? How can we check whether this isn't some kind of last try to make a profit before the company will go bust altogether? Now don't tell me that the userbase is of any value here, because that's bogus. Userbases don't sell machines unfortunately. And the fact that Gateway owns Amiga (that's what I've been told) doesn't make it look any better. Gateway is a typical boxshifter and nothing more than that. I don't think I'd ever buy a computer from such a company... Would you?
Cheers,
/Peter.
