Yep, replacing the prg should pretty much do the trick.

However if you are using MiNT loadable hardware drivers, filesystem drivers and network drivers they should be updated as well.

Also read the documentation for the new kernel as there are alot of new commands for mint.cnf.

Ps. The topic is a bit weird, it says replace MultiTOS with MiNT.. Just to clarify things; MiNT is the kernel which MultiTOS is using. So you ain't replacing MultiTOS, only upgrading the old kernel with a new one.
The multitasking GUI of MultiTOS (AES.SYS) stays the same.
