I have only used the lan drivers with cuebase. They are part of cuebase, and are called MROS drivers. If I understand it correctly, MROS is something like a multitasking os that Steinburg wrote for cuebase. I've also been useing Cuebase VST on a pc, and I occasionally see the word MROS in some of the setup pages of it. That leads me to speculate that they still used MROS code of some sort up until VST anyway. I really wish they could release the CAF 2.06, or let someone take it over, like on "the orphaned projects" page. I like to dream about what could be done updating CAF 2.06 for my CT60 Falcon!
My job has given me access to things like a Yamaha EX-5 keyboard and a Roland V-Drum set. Having several multiTimbral instruments is one reason I like using the mini mac man. Although it only gives you 1 extra midi out, it gives you another midi in! I think it's cool because using mult record, I can "live" record 2 players and mono audio.
I've never tried KCS/Omega.
