If you're using it for midi, any STF, STFM, STe, Mega STe will do the job. The last two have stereo out, that may be nice.
For 'heavier' programs like Cubase you should be looking for one with at least 2 MB ram (max 4 MB).
I've used my STe 4 MB for 7 years live on stage. 4 MB may sound not much, but you'll never need more with an Atari ST.
If you just want to use the programs, try STeem, an Atari emulator for pc. It's good with mide.
Go to Tim's Atari Midi World for all those nice programs. Tim is also an expert in combining Atari and VSTi.
