Thanks Coda
I will try the fdiinit.prg
Is the audiotracker you speak of the one as supplied with the FDI FA8 Package?
-- I didnt know that it was. Audiotracker is made by soundpool, like an 8 track tape recorder just using HD recording instead.
I have a feeling my red (working)Steinberg one is a 20bit. And the soundpool 24bit.
-- Quite possible. I have no idea how to check. Open both up and see if theres any stickers with version numbers inside, or there is a "24bit ready" sticker on the outside.
Things sounded a lot nicer through Flextracker with the Soundpool.
-- This shouldnt make sense. The units, apart from being 20bit or 24bit maximum are identical and the Falcon only uses 16bit streams.
Also I have never been able to Optically connect the fdi to my Sony MDS JE510 (mini disc). I wasn't able to work out whether there were problems with the outputted level or ? as i have no software to directly control this.
-- I have the same minidisk deck, and it works perfectly with my FDI. Explain what you want to do, and how you are going about it, and maybe I can help.
any clues apart from NVDI / CT60 etc. on making Cubase work faster, some times it has a terrible habit of slurring.
-- First run it in mono. Colour for that app is not needed. Before I got my CT60 I ran it in 1024x768x2 and it was perfect. Secondly, any sort of booster will help, doesnt have to be an afterburner, or CT2/60 whatever, you can quite easily overclock the CPU and BUS with a little bit of soldering and a new Xtal. If you have a plain unboosted Falcon then stick to 800x600x2.
